The Willows at Meadow Branch has designed an area called Special Care North which is specifically suited to meet the needs of Alzheimer's and dementia residents. Special Care North is comprised of 20 private rooms and an easily accessible dining room, living room, and activities room.

Secure surroundings and state-of-the-art safety features provide security for adults who need special care. Residents can take afternoon strolls in our enclosed wandering garden or relax in the gazebo on a sunny afternoon. A daily calendar of structured activities such as aromatherapy, sing-a-longs, storytelling and scavenger hunts give residents a sense of purpose and well being.

For easy identification, we have color-coded the doors to the resident's private apartments in the Alzheimer's and dementia wing. And as a reminder of home, we have included a Plexiglas enclosed "memory box" on the wall by the entrance of each apartment, which can be filled with memorabilia reminiscent of family and friends.

A special care Coordinator oversees the programming and care plans of those residents living in Special Care North. This person is a Licensed Practical Nurse and works under the guidance of the Director of Nursing.
